The new ELT is installed in the Cub. You will notice the new panel
mount switch for it with enunciator light.  We don't ever make hard
landings or get into real bumpy air with it, do we?  But if the light
comes on, push the reset button to rearm it.
 
Thus, this is another item for your shut down check list and the last
thing to check at night to make sure the light is off.
 
Another interesting item is the ELT can be removed and there is an
antenna attached to the mount to be attached.  If one were down
somewhere it could be taken out and used out side the plane.  You can
even talk over it.  The little red plastic thingy on it is a mike.
You obviously can't hear anything but you can do a SOS over it
verbally with location etc. or carry it with you if you needed to
walk out in the mountains.
